Your Mission Statement needs to align with those.School Counseling Program Goals: Look at school attendance, academic, and behavior data and select a few goal areas from the list to explore further.The program goals are critical to nearly every aspect of your plan. The goals determine what data will be relevant, what services will be provided, and how success will be measured and communicated. The goals should be consistent with your school's improvement plan. Increase overall school attendance rate Reduce absenteeism for a targeted group of students who have excessive absences Close the achievement gap Increase the percentages of low-income and minority students who score proficient or higher on standardized math or reading tests. Increase the percentage of students who score at the benchmarks on the ACT or SAT math and English sub-scales. Increase the percentage of students who score within 2 points of the benchmarks on ACT Math or English who retake the tests and make or exceed the benchmarks. Increase the percentage of seniors who complete the FAFSA Reduce the overall percentage of students who fail core courses. A targeted group of students who have already failed core courses will retake them and pass. Reduce the overall out-of-school suspension rate. A targeted group of students who were suspended twice or more in the past two years will be suspended fewer times in the current/up-coming year. The number of office referrals will decrease overall.
